Zero Expectations

Do you set personal goals for yourself?

I used to. I have achieved many things in life with a strict schedule. I believe goals have made me grow up too quickly, which has brought me to a place where I no longer dissociate under sheer pressure and expectations, but instead ease off because I am my worst critic—or I used to be.

I have mellowed out. I am in a very healthy place in my life where I have zero expectations of myself, and perfection is not even a second thought, but more of a growth metric.

We’re allowing myself to learn with time and not be an expert on day one, which was insane to expect from myself and others.
