What Brings You Peace?
Nature, would be the third one on my list of things that bring me peace. I look at the sky and take a deep breath every time I feel overwhelmed with different emotions.
It happened a lot in the last few years. Looking at the sky always makes me feel at peace. Maybe it’s because growing up everyone said that God was up in the sky somewhere. Talking to the Five People, second on the list are the people I’d call if anything was to not make sense.
When I am in any situation, I zoom in so deep it gets harder to zoom out and look at it at a different distance. That’s the time I need external reinforcements. I don’t call all five, but any one of the five help me take a step back. This call is not for advice, they are my sound board. I solve the situation myself, they offer support and that brings much needed peace at the time of chaos in my mind.
Me, first on the list is myself. Over the years I have taught myself to trust my instincts. Which is more than a gut feeling but less than always being right. It’s knowing that I have my back if things were to go south.
Not getting a job interview or having to make a difficult call or to face a large crowd. I know I’ll not trip and fall, if I were to walk a runway. I have allowed myself to accept my flows and more so my brain. It brings me a lot of peace when I don’t feel guilty over minor or major changes, mistakes or a conversation.
Allowing myself to be curious, to look into the big, “Why do I feel this way?”. Has brought me more peace than the other two. I look within, when I want peace. To conclude, if I want lasting peace. I look within. Considering, the direction this world is taking, you will feel you can’t rely on the world. It’s a fair feeling, nobody is going to judge you for it.
